Explanation of Writing Assignment #1

This assignment is comparable to a basic research paper done in normal English courses but is more personal due to the author's connection to the subject matter. The purpose of the first assignment is to learn more about the style of writing required for the author's intended profession. The essay becomes personal to the author through the questions asked in the interview conducted with someone in the specific field being researched. We are required to write a five-page double-spaced paper explaining the different writing styles and writing skills necessary for the specific profession. The paper must include six written sources and at least three should be academic sources and three non-academic sources are also required.
